The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act (2013), or “The POSH Act” as it is popularly known, provides a legal mechanism for dealing with complaints relating to the sexual harassment of women at the workplace. The implementation of this Act is compulsory in all establishments. Defaulters stand to have fines imposed on them or even face having their licenses revoked.
This book details the process of implementing the Act, right from the setting up of an Internal Complaints Committee to the making of complaints against sexual harassment, inquiries and the awarding of punishments. There is a separate chapter on false complaints and the regrettable misuse of the Act. The book also discusses landmark judgments dealing with the provisions of this Act.
