About the Book:
Health is wealth and a healthy diet is essential to maintain good health. Plant-based diet has significant health benefits because of the presence of essential nutrients and phytochemicals which have medicinal value. Many of these fruits and herbs form an integral part of Indian diet, although most people are ignorant about their qualities. Certain food grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables are low in calories but high in protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and medicinal properties. This book presents the health benefits of superfoods - fruits, vegetables and herbs. This book is an initiative of the Nature Cure Ashram, an institution established by Mahatma Gandhi, to create awareness on the consumption of more fruits and vegetables and the potential of Naturopathy for ensuring sound health.
