The book is a philosophy oriented, socio-political meditation. It directs and holds the gaze at the incumbent super power-United States of America- to examine the vexing questionwhy is the American experiment failing and what lessons are on offer for India, but perhaps for the world, including America. So why now? The world is changing at a rapid clip, due in no small part to black swan events, and the generation of people living now has front-row seats to it all. The pandemic and untold human suffering, two regional wars and loss of countless innocent lives, a weary world demonstrating a robust appetite for collaboration through the expansion of BRICS, re-emergence of Russia and the rise of China, it's not unreasonable to conclude that existing structures of power are fraying while new structures are quietly forming. India meanwhile, still in her infancy with a lot to learn as infants often do, is being asked to decide who she wants to be when she grows up. It's a capstone moment - she has remarkable unrealized potential, glory can belong to her, but she must lead with the courage of her convictions, broad competence, deep compassion ,and profound integrity to deliver on the promise of her storied civilization. While, history alone will tell you if she did or not, I'll do my best to equip her, here and now. Come along, wont you?
