Mahendra Arya is an engineer by education. Writing has been his passion in Hindi as well as English. He is a multi-faceted person, who writes fictions, thrillers, mythology, plays and poetry. His plays have been staged in Mumbai and he has played a character in each of his plays. His popular plays include – Studio Six, Paying Guest, Badi Haveli, Party, Colonol’s Den and Floating Resort. His published books include thrillers like Facebook Friends and Tangents and a Circle; however, his mythological fiction Kaikayi – the Misunderstood Queen and Draupadi Demystified have been extremely popular among his readers. Facebook Friends has won the award for Best Plot Of The Year 2022 from Ukiyoto Publishing Group; book is also selected for creation of a movie based on its story.
Mahendra is an avid reader of history of India. He has studied the evolution of India, post-independence. In the process he found the story of the scam of Haidas Mundhra – an interesting story to pen. He has gathered a detailed account of the events that happened in mid fifties related to the scam. He has gathered all his work on the subject in his new book First Scam- Story Of Haridas Mundhra.
