ISRO: EXPLORING NEW FRONTIERS An upbeat mood prevails in ISRO after Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander soft-landed on the moon on August 23, 2023. The book ISRO: Exploring the New Frontiers, To the Moon, the Sun & Beyond, published by The Hindu newspaper group, unravels ISRO’s self-reliant and world-class programmes. The book covers a vast canvas including its history, the three Chandrayaan missions, Mars Orbiter, its Aditya-L1 spacecraft, the upcoming Gaganyaan programme, plans to build a space station and send a spacecraft to Venus. ISRO veterans have written stories on its prowess in building launch vehicles and satellites, and have paid tributes to Vikram Sarabhai, father of India’s space programme.
