Dr. Anil K Jain completed his MS (Orthopaedics) in 1984 from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. He worked as Senior Resident (1985–88) at Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, and joined as Lecturer (1988) in Orthopaedics at University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), University of Delhi. Subsequently, he was promoted as Reader (1992) and appointed as Professor (1997) of Orthopaedics, which was later redesignated as Director Professor in 2009. He was then promoted as Principal of UCMS in 2019 and superannuated from the same position. He served as the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, for 9 years and Dean of Faculty of Medical Sciences (October 2020–April 2022), University of Delhi. He was awarded WHO fellowship in 1992 for training in spine surgery, IOA foreign fellowship in 1999, and AO fellowship in 2000 and Commonwealth fellowship (2010) for training in spine surgery. He was awarded FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2011 and FAMS by the National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, in 2012. He has published more than 143 articles in peer-reviewed indexed journals with H-index of 35 and I-10 of 83. He has the distinction of publishing the highest number of articles on TB Spine in the world with 10 of his articles featuring in 250 most cited articles.
