Dr. Tanuj Kanchan is presently working as Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology at AIIMS, Jodhpur. He is a PhD guide as well as post-graduate teacher. He has been the Assistant Dean (Research) at AIIMS, Jodhpur from 2016 to 2020, and is a member of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC). He is presently shouldering the responsibility of Vice Dean (Examinations) at AIIMS, Jodhpur.
He has authored more than 450 scientific articles in leading journals, of which more than 340 appear in PubMed. He has authored text books; ‘Rapid Review of Toxicology’ and ‘Çrime Scene Investigation: An Overview’, and is one of the authors in ‘Atlas of Forensic Pathology’. He has contributed chapters in the Encyclopedia of Forensic Sciences, Encyclopedia of Forensic and Legal Medicine, and Encyclopedia of Archeological Sciences.
Dr Tanuj Kanchan is also the Editor in Chief of Journal of Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine (JIAFM), the official journal of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine.
Dr. Tanuj Kanchan is a recipient of ‘Good Teacher Award’ twice from KMC, Mangalore. He was felicitated by the Indian Society of Toxicology in 2016 for valuable contributions to Medical Toxicology literature in India. He was awarded Fellowship of Indian Association of Medico-legal Experts (FIAMLE) in 2017 and Fellowship of the International Association of Law and Forensic Sciences (FIALFS) in 2019. He is also elected as the Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MAMS) in 2019.
