LINEAGE
A descendant of a longstanding Siddha-Ayurveda tradition (parampara) in northern Sri Lanka,
Dr. Sri Shakti Sumanan is the eighth generation physician from the lineage.
The origin of the lineage can be traced back to the Vedaranyam Shiva Temple in South India (aka Thirumaraikkaadu Shiva Temple, the place is associated with many seers and thought to be the centre of Cosmic Knowledge where four Vedas and Goddess Saraswati were said to have
worshiped Lord Shiva for their wisdom).
Sri Shakti Sumanan’s lieage worship Agasthiya Maharishi and Dadhichi Maharishi as their parampara Gurus by whom the wisdom of medicine and yogic science is believed to have been bestowed upon the lineage.
ENTERING THE SADHANA PATH
At the age of thirteen, Sri Shakti Sumanan was initiated by his father on Navaratri into worshiping their Parampara Guru Sri Agastiya Maharishi.
He made Sri Shakti Sumanan draw an image of Agatthiya Maharishi and told him,
“He is our guru, he is Siranjeevi (immortal being), pray to him and learn medicine.”
Few months later, Sri Shakti Sumanan came across a book titled
மனித காந்தம் (Human Magnetism), a book that explains how human Aura is created by mind and Prana Shakti, authored by Sri Gayathri Siddhar Murugesu Swamigal, a direct disciple of Sri Kannaiah Yogieeshwara who belonged to Agatthiyar Maharishi’s lineage.
He wrote to Sri Murugesu Swamigal expressing his eagerness to do Sadhana. The Swamigal sent a reply blessing him and instructing him to continue chanting the Gayathri mantra every day – a vow Sri Shakti Sumanan has been fulfilling without fail for over two decades now.
After two years, when he was fifteen years old, Sri Shakti Sumanan got a chance to meet Swamigal.
Accepting Sumanan as his disciple on a Vaikasi fullmoon day, Swamigal instructed him to live a householder’s life, perform sadhana along with all his family responsibilities.
“You will know God thus”Swaimigal said.
Sri Murugesu Swamigal granted Gayathri deeksha to Sri Shakti Sumanan
and his mother on Vaikasi Pournami day.
The path Sri Shakti Sumanan was granted initiation in, is known as Gayahtri Gupta Vignan, a method adopted by Yogis and Maharishis using Gayatri Mantra and Upasana as Yogic practice.
He spent many years with Swami Murugesu on Guru seva in accordance with the ancient tradition of Gurukula.
Swami Murugesu showered his blessings upon him by teaching Gayathri Guptha vignana, Siddha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Yoga of Mind, Prana Vidhya and many other Siddha knowledge disciplines.
SRI VIDYA AND HIGHER PRACTICES

When he shared this experience with his next Guru, Sri Annappunaambha sahitha Sri Amirtanandanata Saraswathi of Devipuram, Visakapattinam, Andra Pradesh, India, he he blessed and initiated him into Krama Deeksha of Sri Vidya.
Under his tutelage, Sumanan practiced Mantra Puracharanas of Sri Vidya Krama. Upon observing his progress and spiritual experiences along the path,
Sri Annappunaambha sahitha Sri Amirtanandanata Saraswathi imparted the

three message for Sumanan to follow:
“Devi inside you will guide you in your endeavours to decode and understand the
wisdom of ancient Siddhas – continue your mission.
Whoever comes to you seeking guidance, help them.
Share with others the knowledge, wisdom and love you develop through your practice”.
Sri Shakti Sumanan has been working towards this end ever since.
He was also blessed into higher initiations by Sri Nikleshwarananda Guruparampara of Siddhashram,
