He was elected as the National President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics for 2021. During his presidential year, he conceptualized and facilitated framing of 105 IAP Guidelines on Parental education; and initiated a nationwide campaign on Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development, supported by WHO and Unicef. He has been actively involved in research and training of health professionals and community for rational management of diarrhea, severe acute malnutrition, and essential newborn health through IAP and Unicef. He has anchored more than 300 programs on All India Radio for increasing health awareness of common disorders in the community.
