Most of Calvert Markham's career has been as a management consultant, initially specialising in human resources consultancy but now concentrating on the performance development of consultants and practices. He founded Elevation Learning, which specialises in consultant development and training. Since its formation in 1989 he has trained hundreds of consultants from many organisations around the world.
Calvert has a degree from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences, and a Diploma in Management Studies. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting (IC) of which he was President in 2004, and is a Certified Management Consultant.
In 2008 Calvert was appointed the first President of the Richmond Group, of which he is a former Chairman, and he is a Past Master of the City of London based Worshipful Company of Management Consultants, of which he was a founding member.
Calvert has been a UK Trustee on the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes, of which was a Vice Chairman, chairing the Professional Standards Committee, which oversees global standards in management consultancy.
Calvert is also a Visiting Professor in the practice of management consultancy at Cass Business School in City University, lecturing there and at other business schools. He is the author of several books on management consultancy.
