M Saleem Pandit is a prominent journalist and author from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He received his early education from Tyndale Biscoe School, Srinagar and later graduated in Science and English Literature from SP College.He further pursued a law degree from the University of Kashmir. His career in journalism spans over three decades, primarily with The Times of India, where he has faced numerous challenges due to the tumultuous political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. Pandit has also participated in various international programs, including a leadership program in the United States, where he attended classes at Columbia University and Iowa University. His journalistic work has often placed him in controversial situations, leading to a mixed reputation within his community. Despite attracting more adversaries than allies, he remains steadfast in his commitment to journalism, which he views as a means to understand and docu- ment the complex history of Kashmir. He was awarded gold Medal as the best Journalist award from the Jammu and Kashmir government in the year 2010 for his contribution in the field of journalism.
