Elizabeth Bautista is the Manager for the Operations Technology Group at the US Department of Energy Office of Science computational facility called NERSC at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Among her notable accomplishments, Elizabeth guided her team to create a robust data collection and archiving infrastructure that she presents in the book she co-authored, “Conquering Big Data with High Performance Computing.”
She avidly supports programs that seek to involve women in STEM, champions staff retention policies, diversity and workforce development, and advocates that the next generation of STEM professionals be trained through hands-on opportunities and practice.
She was named one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World™. She co-authored “DISRUPT 2.0. Filipina Women: Daring to Lead,” a book of stories about Filipina women in leadership roles and their struggle to attain those positions.
She helps organize global technical conferences for women and diversity and manages the student internship program at NERSC. In her copious free time, she is an avid fan of the opera, musical theater, Disney and teaches young girls to code robots. She has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and an M.B.A. in Technical Management.
