Extracted from a few letters the Indian agent had managed to smuggle across to his mother in India, the book follows the life, emotions and hardships of this man during the mid - sixties and seventies of the 20th century during which India and Pakistan were at war with each other.The book tells the story of one of the agents involved in the war, who managed to cross the border into Pakistan. He married a girl from Pakistan and had a family with her. He was discovered and jailed in the country. Unaware of her son's predicament or even whether he is alive, the agent's mother lives in a state of uncertainty. The book is a chilling and realistic narration which provides a rare glimpse into the time of conflict between the two countries.
