This is the inspiring story of Dr. C.C. Abraham, an Indian agricultural scientist and professor, who has made significant contributions to the field of agriculture.
A consistent top-ranker throughout his academic career, Dr. Abraham was a first-rank holder at the bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. levels. Notably, he earned a gold medal for his PhD in 1971 at the Indian Institute of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, at the young age of 34. His teachers were eminent scientists, including the later Bharat Ratna awardee and "Father of Green Revolution" in India, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan.
Dr. Abraham grew up in a small village in Kerala, India. Despite facing many challenges, he excelled in his studies and went on to have a distinguished career at the Kerala Agricultural University, where he served as a professor, dean, and associate director of research. He also served on the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Scientific Panel for Entomology and as a member of National Review teams for Rice, Cashew, Oil Palm, and Pesticide Residues. He is a Fellow of the Entomological Society of India (FESI).
After his retirement, Dr. Abraham continued to serve the agricultural community through his advisory roles in various research initiatives. He has also been actively involved in the Malankara Orthodox Church, where he has published over thirty devotional and spiritual articles and delivered over 140 biblical messages.
