Shirish V. Chindhade (Born 30 June 1946) writes poetry, articles, short stories, reviews, research papers in English and Marathi and translates from both the languages. His writings has published in journals and periodicals like New Quest, The Times of India, Poetcrit, BEAM, JIWE, Indian Book Chronicle, University News, etc. He has delivered many radio talks on literary subjects for Akashwani Pune, and has participated in several UGC programmes of Countrywide Classroom national network. He has translated Albert Camus' The Outsider in Marathi and has written six books in Marathi including two co-authored for competitive examinations. Writers Workshop, Calcutta, has published his book of English poems entitled Tryambakeshwar. He is working on his new book Promenades, a collection of articles on poetry, fiction and prose, mainly Indian. He is an M.A. (English Literature), an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in Indian English poetry, all degrees from the University of Pune. He is the Principal of the M.U. College of Commerce at Pimpri near Pune, Maharashtra. He is currently editing a selection of Indian English poetry.
